Moldovan wine specialists in Towcester
Wine Chateau Ltd is a family-run specialist importer of Moldovan wine, founded by Constantin and Cristina Paunoiu. From our shop at Bell Plantation in Towcester we sell to private customers and supply restaurants, retailers and hospitality businesses across mainland Great Britain. We also host regular tastings and Moldova Uncorked, the Moldovan wine festival at Delapré Abbey.
Our story
We started Wine Chateau in Wellingborough in October 2021, bringing wines from Moldova to UK customers. As the business grew, our range grew too, with more wines, more wine regions and more countries. To make room, we moved to a new, larger shop at Bell Plantation in Towcester on 1 February 2026. The extra space lets us offer a more varied selection and host dedicated tastings in the shop.
Our aim is still the same: to make distinctive wines easier to discover, understand and enjoy.
Wine Chateau at a glance

- Shop: Unit 17A, Bell Plantation Garden Centre, Watling Street, Towcester NN12 6GX. We moved here in February 2026 from Wellingborough.
- Open Monday to Saturday 10:00–17:00 and Sunday 10:00–16:00
- Over 80 Moldovan wines, plus selected wines from Romania, Georgia and Bulgaria
- We import directly and handle the logistics ourselves, working with producers including Château Purcari, Cricova, Mileștii Mici, Château Vartely and Carlevana
- Free tastings in the shop every Friday to Sunday, plus monthly guided tastings and private group tastings
- Organisers of Moldova Uncorked at Delapré Abbey, Northampton, supported by the Embassy of the Republic of Moldova in the UK and Invest Moldova. Nine Moldovan wineries took part in the 2026 festival.
- Delivery across mainland Great Britain: free over £120, usually 2–3 working days, or free collection from the shop
- Trade supply for restaurants, bars and retailers, with Net 30 terms
