07 Mar Unveiling Moldovan Elegance: An evening of Wine, Collaboration, and Potential!
When wine becomes an experience, an evening transforms into a tapestry of flavours, aromas, and shared moments. Recently, we had the pleasure of immersing ourselves in such an unforgettable affair at Oddfellows On The Park, a picturesque setting in Cheadle.
Warm Welcomes and Sparkling Conversations
Our evening began with a sparkling welcome Cuvee de Purcari Feteasca Alba, setting the tone for the elegance that followed. Mr. McGeorge’s warm hospitality and the introduction to an esteemed group of guests created an atmosphere of camaraderie. Oddfellows On The Park’s staff orchestrated a seamless event, and the chefs’ culinary artistry was a perfect complement to the diverse selection of Moldovan wines.
An Evening to Remember
The stage was set, and glasses were filled as we embarked on a journey of wine appreciation. The event, graciously hosted by Mr. Douglas McGeorge, was not just an occasion to showcase Moldovan wines; it was a celebration of collaboration, culinary craftsmanship, and the potential for future partnerships. Before heading to the main dinner, we were delighted to share our wine business adventure, explain the unique qualities of Moldovan wines due to the rich terroir, and showcase Moldova’s recent achievements at international wine contests. The presentation continued with a tasting of three white wines and two reds:
Rielsing by Terra Dacia Winery, semidry white
Viorica by Cricova Winery, dry white
Chardonnay by Vinum Estate, dry white
Purpuriu de Purcari by Milestii Mici Winery, dry red
Saperavi by Vinum Estate, dry red
Sip, Savour, and Share: The Wine Journey
As we followed the steps of wine appreciation – seeing, swirling, sniffing, sipping, and savouring – Moldovan wines revealed their unique character. The colours and clarity, the aromas dancing in the glass, the taste that lingered on the palate, and the delightful finishes; each sip was a revelation. Subsequently, we moved to the long-awaited dinner – a delicious menu crafted by Oddfellows on the Park chefs, paired with a selection of five wines and a final whisky.

First course – Nocturne Rose by Chateau Purcari
Second course – Feteasca Regala & Riesling by Chateau Vartely
Third course – Feteasca Neagra by Cricova Winery & Merlot by Terra Dacia Winery
Dessert – Nocturne Rara Neagra by Chateau Purcari & Carpathian Single Malt Feteasca Neagra Cask Finish by Alexandrion Group (Romania)

The Power of Collaboration
Collaboration in the world of wine extends beyond the tasting room. It’s about creating connections, sharing experiences, and exploring new horizons. Moldovan wines, with their distinct terroir and grape varieties, showcased the potential for collaboration that reaches far beyond the vines.
Setting the Stage for Future Collaborations
The collaboration potential reached its peak during this event. Mr. McGeorge’s generosity in introducing us to a discerning audience opens doors for future partnerships. The magic of Moldovan wines combined with the atmosphere of Oddfellows On The Park has set the stage for exciting collaborations that go beyond the boundaries of a single evening.
A Toast to Moldovan Elegance
As we raise our glasses to the incredible experience at Oddfellows On The Park, we also raise our hopes for future collaborations. Moldovan wines have not just graced our palates; they’ve woven a story of shared experiences and the promise of exciting endeavours to come. In the world of wine, every bottle tells a story, and every sip is a chapter. Moldovan wines, showcased in collaboration with wonderful hosts and partners, have certainly left an indelible mark on our story.
We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Douglas McGeorge for this incredible opportunity, Peter, the Bar & Restaurant Manager, for flawlessly organizing the event down to the last detail, and, of course, the chefs for creating such delightful culinary masterpieces.
